Our mission is to repurpose wood waste into something that is safe for our customers to use and better for the environment.
USDA Certified
In 2022, we were certified by the USDA as a 100% Biobased Product. This certification helps let retailers and customers have a sense of comfort in purchasing and using our products. The certification validates our product claims of being 100% natural with no chemicals or additives. Our logs are made from sawdust that if not utilized by GMF may end up in a landfill that would harm the environment.
Replanting for the Future
In 2022, Green Mountain Firew started the “Buy a bag, Plant a tree.” initiative— to make a donation every year towards planting new trees. GMF helped plant 20,000 Trees with US and Global tree planting initiatives. We plan to continue our donation year after year and to increase it with the amount of wood waste we process. Our hope is to continue to repurpose and recycle wood waste on an impactful scale long into the future.
Upcycling
Green Mountain Fire is dedicated to sustainable manufacturing, embracing eco-friendly practices that upcycle 100% hardwood waste. Our firewood kits are crafted from premium hardwood sourced from sawmills and hardwood manufacturers, significantly reducing the environmental impact of traditional firewood production. We locally collect hardwood sawdust, which is meticulously processed and cleaned in-house to uphold the highest quality standards—all proudly done at our plant in Owensboro, Kentucky. By repurposing materials that would otherwise go to waste, we create high-quality, chemical-free fire products that are safe for cooking and elevate the fireside experience.
